About App Advisor

If you run a business in India and need an HRMS, you will spend a weekend on comparison sites and come away knowing less than when you started. The listings are written from vendor marketing copy, the “top 10” is whoever paid most that quarter, and nothing accounts for the things that actually decide it here — whether payroll handles PF and ESI correctly, whether invoicing is genuinely GST-compliant, whether support answers the phone in your time zone.

We built App Advisor to answer the question a buyer is really asking: not “what does this product claim”, but “is this the right thing for a business like mine”.

We read the vendor’s own website, and only that. Our crawler pulls features, pricing and screenshots from each vendor’s official pages. Nothing is copied from Capterra, G2, GetApp or Software Advice. Every fact on a product page carries the source URL it came from, so you can check us in one click.

Our scoring is published and auditable. Seven pillars, fixed weights, and every score expandable to the individual signals behind it. Where we could not gather evidence, we mark the pillar as unmeasurable and exclude it, rather than quietly scoring it average. Read the full methodology.

We tell you what your competitors run. Our competitor scan reads public DNS records, SPF entries and careers pages to work out which CRM and HRMS a company actually uses. “What do businesses like mine run” is a better starting point than any feature matrix, and nobody else in this market will tell you.

India first. We index Indian software before global software, price in rupees, and weight GST and statutory payroll compliance as the hard requirements they are.

This matters, so we will be direct about it. App Advisor is free for buyers and always will be. We never take payment from you for software — if you buy, the vendor invoices you directly.

We earn from two things:

• Qualified introductions. When you ask us to arrange a demo, some vendors pay us a referral fee. You are told this on the form, it costs you nothing, and it never changes a score or a ranking.
• Our own services. When nothing off the shelf fits, we build it — websites, portals and custom business applications.

What we do not do: sell rankings, sell badges, sell the removal of a negative finding, or let a vendor edit their own listing. If that ever changes, this page changes first.

The catalogue starts with software built in India or widely used by Indian businesses, and grows from there. Reviews are moderated by hand. Listings are re-crawled on a rolling schedule, and every product page shows when it was last checked.

If we have something wrong — and at this scale we will — the “Report this listing” link on every page is the fastest way to tell us. We read all of them.
